Booked for the Rome Marathon through EasyJet Holidays. The location was ideal as it was walking distance to friends hotels in the area and everything I needed was in walking distance from the hotel including the start of the Marathon which was at the colosseum. Not many bars or restaurants in the immediate area but a short 15 minute walk you will find the Trevi Fountain area which has more than enough places around. I did not have breakfast added onto my stay but there was an option for 8 euros per morning, there is also the tax which is 6 euros pp which is also not included into the price and this seems to be the same across Rome. On arrival I did have some issues, first of all hotel is on the 3rd floor and has a button on the outside with a camera which I did not see at first. There is also another hotel on the 1st floor which I accidently went into before they told me to go up another 2 floors. There is a lift with a cage door but I did always use the stairs. On arrival at the door which was closed you need a code to get in, I pressed the buzzer a few times as I did not have the code (To point out I may have missed it on my many emails from easyjet) so ended up calling the number which they proceeded to kindly give me the entry code. Once the code is in and the heavy wooden door is open there is another glass door immediately afterwards, this makes it really difficult to get suitcases through both doors as the wooden door just wants to close and it isn't very wide. There was no one on reception when I arrived and my key was left on the desk in a box with my name on with a printed out sheet explaining the wifi code and checkout/breakfast and staff times. Once I got to my room and put the key into open the door the cap came off my key with the actual key stuck in the door which took me a few minutes to remove. I than had to be careful every time I unlocked the door. The room was nice for one person, it's the city so it gets busy and loud outside even though it is down a side street. The bed was very comfortable, three pillows per side plus extra and there were a few things to buy in the mini bar should you choose too. I didn't see an iron or board, there is a TV, soaps and toothpaste and brush. The toilet and bidet with two rolls of toilet paper. Also towels and slippers are provided and a small selection of teas' and coffee with powdered milk. There were some minor issues, the lamp next to the bed felt like it was going to fall apart, there was rust on the floor next to the sink and there was no extractor fan but there is high a high ceiling. The thing I had issues with the most was the safe, the safe worked when it wanted too and I had some scares where I could not get back into the safe. It should be easy to put in your code and and confirm to lock and just put the same code in again to unlock but at times I could be putting the code in for up to 10 minutes until it chose to open/lock. I did have the room opposite the breakfast areas which was loud on my last morning but luckily the other two days I was out before breakfast had started. When I did see someone on reception they were very friendly and helpful.

This was a fairly late booking so I didn't have alot of choice. I wanted something close to the train station so I didn't have to drag my luggage too far. The place can be confusing to find if you don't look carefully. Look for the large "Hotel Dorica" sign, it shares and entrance. When you go in, take the elevator up to Floor 3 where the hotel is located. Note that they have limited reception hours but if you let them know in advance, they will make arrangements. The room was a decent size with high ceilings but the bathroom was really tiny. There is a curtain separating it from the main area. The toilet area has a sliding door but its tighter than an airplane lavatory with the door closed. The room is fine for one person. A little tight with two. The bathroom seemed to have no vent fan. The floor seemed to be a painted cement. Overall the room was mostly clean, but when you look in the corners , not so much. For a short trip by myself, it's ok. If I were staying longer I'd find a better place.
